Nuria Brillembourg is a Barcelona-born author, screenwriter, artist, and jewelry designer whose life and work span continents. Her story is one of creativity, reinvention, and passion — moving from art and jewelry design to novels, sitcoms, and film projects that bridge cultures and inspire connection.
Nuria grew up in Barcelona, where she secretly devoured novels by Émile Zola and Concha Alós. At 13, she moved with her family to Venezuela, and by 16, she returned to Europe to continue her education. Later, she studied Art, Design, and Decoration in Mexico, which ignited her lifelong love of creativity. Her early training led her to the German Mancini Art Gallery, where she exhibited her paintings and began her artistic journey.
In Venezuela, Nuria balanced family life with her growing passion for design. Over 14 years, she built a successful career as a jewelry designer, crafting unique collections and eventually gaining recognition in the United States. In New York City, her career flourished: she collaborated with designers like Giles Mendel and Piero Guidi and even opened her own space on Madison Avenue. These years refined her artistic eye and shaped the elegance she later brought into storytelling.
Creativity led Nuria from design to storytelling. Her first major step was the film Friend Ship Hotel (2006), where she served as executive producer. A year later, she created, wrote, and directed the Spanish sitcom Tómalo Suave (2007). Her shift into writing continued with the reflective book Learning from Helga (2005) and her romantic novel Meet Me in Italy (2008), which is now being developed for a 2025 film adaptation.
At the heart of Nuria Brillembourg’s work is a deep commitment to compassion, empowerment, and community. Beyond writing, she believes in giving back and supporting causes that uplift others and create lasting change.
Now based in Miami and Key Biscayne, Nuria draws daily inspiration from the ocean and tropical sunsets. She describes her home as a sanctuary that fuels her writing and imagination. Alongside her creative projects, she is proud of her whole family.
